Internship

2026

BaSig Wireless

  • Engineered Layer 2/3 protocols for 5G core signaling — NGAP (3GPP TS 38.413) and NAS (3GPP TS 24.501) message codecs in Python with hardcoded APER encoding validation.
  • Achieved malformation-free transmission and bit-exact protocol compliance through empirical APER encoding analysis and Wireshark-based debugging.

Notes

Taping out a SKY130 ASIC as a student

The TinyTapeout submission meant working within real silicon constraints rather than simulation-only limits — an 80% tile utilization ceiling, a strict power budget, and gate-level checks that don't forgive shortcuts. The most instructive part was debugging forbidden met5 PDN violations and cocotb X-value errors: each fix required tracing the issue back through the physical design flow in OpenROAD rather than just the RTL. It reframed hardware design as a negotiation with the fabrication process, not just the logic.
